VIDA is seeking an Accountant to manage and oversee key financial processes, ensure accuracy in our financial reporting, and support the ongoing success of VIDA’s finance operations

The Role: 

As the Accountant, some of your primary responsibilities will include: 

  • Oversight on accounts payable processes and balance for VIDA
  • Managing books of accounts for two legal entities in QuickBooks
  • Managing insurance, property tax, and mortgage schedules for all VIDA properties
  • Preparing monthly financial results including journal entries and variance analysis
  • Reconciling key accounts for accuracy and completeness
  • Preparation of key performance indicators including support and analysis
  • Daily Bank balance monitoring and bank reconciliations
  • Credit Card balance monitoring and Credit card reconciliations
  • Intercompany transactions and balance reconciliations
  • Preparation of financing and partnership payments
  • Preparation of payroll for three entities including relevant filings (payroll remittances and WCB)
  • Management and payment of employee benefits and VIDA perks
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement  
  • Collaborating with the VIDA as a whole team on various projects & challenges  
 
 

Here's what will help you succeed in this role:

  • 5+ years of experience working as an accountant. 
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of Yardi is an asset
  • Strong knowledge & understanding of accounts payable
  • Experience & desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • You have strong attention to detail and always strive to present your best work
  • You are curious and keep the big picture in mind
  • You have a proven ability to take ownership and produce high-quality results
